Trobuleshoot - Tablet PC

Tablet PC DesktopClosing MTS Software

You can simply click the blue bar at the top of the screen and drag it to the side
Or click Menu, Maintenance, Menu, Shutdown Application.

The Tablets desktop will look something like this.

 

WiFi SignalWiFi Signal

On the desktop there should be a shortcut called C2020, double click it.

This screen will come up, see if you are connected, if signal strength is good and whether Sent and Received have at least 100 bytes.

 
View Wireless NetworksIf you are not connected, then click View Wireless Networks and see if you can see the tracker you want to use and click connect (Wireless connection needs to have the same name as the tablet).
 

WiFi ConnectionTo make the WIFI connection between tablet and c2020 automatic each time you restart do the following.

Once connected to the C2020, click Change advanced settings on the left hand side of the Choose a wireless network.

Wireless properties will open.

The wireless you are connected to will be listed under prefered networks as above.

Delete any other entries from old connections.

Select the current connection (e.g. tap Boar 01), then the properties button.

 

WiFi ConnectionProperties screen will apear.

Asssociation Tab > Put a tick in the Connect even if this network is not broardcasting box.

 
WiFi ConnectionConnection tab > Put a tick in the Connect when this network is in range box.

Press OK.
 
WiFi ConnectionNow the prefered network you are connected to should have changed from On Demand to Automatic.

Press OK and restart the tablet to check the settings are now working.
 

Tablet NameTablet Name

Each tablet is tethered to a tracking unit.

To check what tracker the tablet is paired with right click the My Computer Shortcut, select properties.

Go to the Computer Name tab and look at Full computer name:

 

Programs Start AutomaticallyPrograms Start
Automatically

The tablet software and wireless connection are set to run automatically when you turn on the Tablet.

If they aren't starting go to Start Button > All Programs > Startup.

If they are missing drag the shortcuts from the desktop to the startup folder.

 

Power and Backlight

This menu can be used to change the brightness, the time backlight stays on, and extend battery life.

Power & BacklightWhen the Samsung unit is running on battery, a battery symbol appears next to the clock, bottom right on the desktop.

Double tapping this will bring up the battery manager.

Keep the batter manager on customized.

You can adjust the LCD Brightness Level and Auto Dimming options to extend battery life.

Just above the OK button there is a small yellow arrow, click this for more options.

 
Power & BacklightMake sure that they are all set to never apart from the Turn off Monitor, if you are finding it destracting while driving.
 

Connecting To A Different NetworkConnect to a diffrent tracker(Not Recommended)

If you are using a wired version of the tablet you only need to change the ID in our software(Seconed Picture Down).

Wireless Tablets need to follow each step inclusing the WIFI settings.

Each Tablet and tracker are paired together.

If you need to move them around you need to change the Computer name and Tablet ID.

Change the Tablet name to the trackers name.

The trackers name is also the name of the wireless connection it advertises.

Right Click on My Computer > Properties > Change Button > Computer Name Field.

Enter in ALL capitals, and press OK.

The computer will need to restart.

 
Connecting To A Different NetworkYou now need to enter the MAN Number of the tracker in to our software.

Go to Menu > Maintenance > Menu > Change ID.

The password is normaly "9841".

Then delete the old man number and enter the new one (This is the last 6 Digits of the device ID, written on the outside and inside of the tracker).

Now that the tablet is set up to work with the Tracker, follow the WIFI settings on this page to connect them.
