Port Checkers OURS & You Get Signal

All routers are diffrent, we can't support them all over the internet.
You may need to get in a professional to do this for you.

Guides for most routers can be found here

Basic Network SetupBasic Network Setup

This is how a basic network could be set up, your PDA communicates to your server via a router and through a firewall for security.

Locating Your Router's IP AddressLocating Your Router's IP Address

To find out what you routers ip address is so you can log on to it.

Go to Start > Run - type "cmd" > Command Prompt will come up - type "ïpconfig /all".

Look for Default Gateway

Accessing Your RouterAccessing Your Router

Go to a browser like Internet explorer, in the address bar at the top enter the ip address of your router (typically 192.168.1.1).

It will prompt for your username and password.

Configure Your RouterConfigure Your Router

Once logged on to your router you should be able to find out the current IP addresses of all computers connected to the router.

In this case click on Attached Devices.

Configure Your RouterLan IP addresses are not fixed. If you open up a port for communication and point it to the IP of a computer, you must make sure the computers IP address does not change later on.

To do this you need to give the Server a fixed Lan IP, on this router I went to LAN Setup and clicked add on Address Reservation.

Configure Your RouterNormally this process is automated to some degree e.g. If you enter the current IP of the computer the mac address is filled in for you.

If not all the information needed is avalable on the command prompt form earlier.

Configure Your RouterNow for the actual port forwarding. On this router I selected Port Forwarding / Port Triggering, then add a custom service.

Configure Your RouterPDA's require port 9000 TCP to be opened.

Transcomm and Piccalo trackers do not require ports to be opened.

Enter the fixed lan IP of the server, and service name can be anything you want .

Click Apply.

Configure Your RouterIt should look like this after the router saves the setting.

Port TesterPort Testers

To make sure the setting you have done are working you can use a port tester.

Our one will work when you have Turbo Dispatch 8 running on the Server.
